DIY Felt Bookmark + Tag by Laurie C. // Homeade with Love Day #2
Hi all and welcome to day two of the Homemade with Love post week!! This is such an awesome idea! I make a lot of cards but not a lot of other crafty stuff, even though I love making other things, my comfort zone is definitely cards. For my project today, I decided to go with a bookmark. A felt bookmark! I love felt. I especially love die cutting felt!! I have a stash that consists of PaperTrey Ink and Taylored Expression felt. They are both lovely.
I went through my stash of RAH dies and picked my faves. For the base of my bookmark, I used the tag die from the Folded Gift Tag Die Set and cut it twice from some pink felt. I cut the reinforcement from grey felt. I don't have any felt glue but I find that Glossy Accents works really well!!
I then took the coffee cup, foam, spoon and heart dies from the Cup of Joy Die Set. I cut the cup out twice from some aqua felt, the spoon out of grey felt and the heart from the pink felt. Before adhering the two cups together, I stitched the heart on with some embroidery floss. I also added a few details to the cup and the spoon.
I adhered all the pieces together and this is the result:
Now to give this as a gift, I created a small card. I cut two of the smaller rectangles from the Find the Beauty Die Set. I scored one of them 1/4 inch from the top and applied double sided tape adhesive and attached the pieces together, this creates a card.
I stamped a sentiment from the How Have You Bean? stamp set on the bottom of the front panel and used a repositionable adhesive to adhere the tag to the front. I find that this will hold nicely without causing harm to the felt!
I love the way this bookmark turned out and I know exactly who to give it to!! Thank you for joining me today! Make sure you come back tomorrow for another incredible project!!
