Homemade Holidays Day #4 with Laurie S. // Notecard Box
Hi there! Laurie here, sharing what I came up with for the Handmade Holiday series! A while ago, Nicole sent these A.Mazing design team boxes out to us. Seriously, I should have taken a photo! There were all sorts of goodies in there, just waiting for some serious Holiday crating!
The thing that caught my eye was this fabulous kraft box. It's the perfect size to hold a set of cards. I absolutely love to create (and give) card sets! Here's what I created with it...
I started by decorating the outside. I just love the rustic look to the kraft box, so I went with that theme. I started by die cutting the tag from the Folded Gift Tag Die Set out of some Christmas plaid patterned paper. The scallop border, banner, and holly leaves are all also from the Folded Gift Tag Die Set. The sentiment is from the Magic of the Season stamp set and is perfectly sized for the cute banner.
I adhered it to a piece of corrugated kraft cardboard (that Nicole had also included in the DT box) after I dabbed on a bit of white acrylic paint. I wrapped the box up with some black and white ribbon (again, from the DT box) and added the tag ensemble to the top.
I tucked three different cards into the box, complete with matching envelopes. I wanted to create some non-holiday themed card so the recipient could use them year round. All three cards feature the Find the Beauty stamp set and coordinating Find the Beauty Die Set. I just love that this set now has coordinating dies...and included the best rectangle stitched dies! I used the smaller rectangle to cut out the patterned paper panels on all three of the cards.
As a card maker, this is truly the most fun gift to create and one that my friends and family has come to expect! Ha! If you don't have any cute kraft boxes to package your cards in, I encourage you to get creative! I have even wrapped the cards up with only ribbon in the past. No matter how they are packaged, handmade cards are always a wonderful gift!
