You Make My Hear Soar Folded Airplane Die Set Card
Happy *almost* weekend!
The valentines week special here on the blog is slowly coming to a close but I do still have a few more projects in me! I got the idea for today's project randomly the other day as one does. I knew I had to recreate it as, if executed properly, would be oh so cute. And it shows how to use the Folded Airplane Die Set for more than just cute valentines.
Let's get started...
To start off my design I die-cut the airplane from the die set and trimmed off the two outer wings. When folded together these would be the two wings on top. I figured to cut out the bulk I'd simply detach them from the rest of the plane. I also die-cut two of the doodle swirls from some cardstock I had inked with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. This is just the perfect sky blue color. Next I cut the heart from my Folded Gift Bag Die Set to act as my focal point but any heart shape will do. This was colored using Picked Raspberry. For the sentiment I used "soar" from the airplane set and die-cut a few extra from white cardstock to layer underneath. I inked the top layer in Peacock Feathers which is just the most beautiful blue. I die-cut a few hearts from some cardstock inked with Worn Lipstick. With all my pieces die-cut I could move on to the background!
For my sky background I used my favorite stencil from My Favorite Things...the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I've used it quite a few times and just love the results. I used the same Cracked Pistachio color to tie everything together. Once that was finished I simply adhered everything together! It's actually a pretty simple card with a lot of die-cutting.
Oh! And don't forget to stamp the rest of the sentiment from the Love Ya set above the "soar" die-cut. That's kind of important.
Like I mentioned, this kind seems involved but can easily be mass-produced for a few deserving recipients...or anyone that makes your heart soar!
I hope you enjoyed today's card project! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
