Love Ya Vellum + Paper Heart Banner
It is with great sadness that I welcome you to (probably) the last Valentine's post on the blog. *collective cries* I know, I know. I've been enjoying the past two weeks so much so. I've learned a lot throughout the process of creating projects everyday and posting them the next. It wasn't easy but the outcomes have made me so happy. As my final project I created a banner using the heart dies from two of my new die sets as well as some vellum, paper and tulle.
Let's get started...
For the base of my banner elements I knew I wanted to incorporate vellum. So, I grabbed the large heart die from my Folded Gift Bag Die Set (it's detachable and can be used to create a window bag) and the single heart from my Folded Airplane Die Set. I cut several of the large heart from vellum as well as some of the single heart from pink cardstock and white cardstock.
I colored the white ones with Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. Over top I stamped the coordinating stitching outline stamp from Love Ya in Candied Apple. I wanted these to have a little detail but not take away from the design of vellum hearts.
On my vellum hearts I stapled some pink tulle to the center. I bunched up the tulle a little bit to add some dimension. On the pink hearts I stamped "love ya" from the same stamp and popped it on top of the vellum with some foam tape. I strung all the hearts onto a banner and stapled the edges in an "x" shape.
I love the dimension of this banner and the different details I was able to incorporate. Now I just have to decide where to hang it...
Have you decorated for Valentine's Day yet? I just bought a cute pillow at CVS of all places. Let me know if the comments below!
