You Can Count on Me Card by Nicole // Gilmore Girls Inspired Post Week
Oy with the poodles already!
This is week is a special week on the Right at Home Blog as my Design Team and I are hosting a Gilmore Girls Inspired Post Week! On Monday through Friday a different member of the Design Team will post a project inspired by the love and friendship theme that is present throughout the Gilmore Girls series. I'm up first and I'm so excited to share my card with you. Make sure to read until the end for details on how to win a special Gilmore Girls giveaway pack I put together!
I knew from the beginning of my process that I wanted to include three elements in my design: coffee, watercolors, and a mustard yellow color to symbolize Luke's famous mugs. I die cut three mugs from watercolor paper and stamped the coordinating images from my Cup of Joy set on to them. I used the little dot from the set to stamps a polka dot pattern on the largest mug. Then I colored all three in with varying shades of blue, green, and mustard watercolors.
Once they dried I cut a slit along the top of the mug so I could slip them into each other. That way it looks like they're stacked together. I popped this finished piece up onto a white doily I cut using an older My Favorite Things die. I then added that finished element to a stitched rectangle I cut from my Find the Beauty Die Set. I tied some brown baker's twine around the bottom to add some texture and finished off with my sentiment from Tiny Sentiments. I think the greeting completes the card perfectly and is reminiscent of the show.
