Life Happens Coffee Helps DIY Gift Card Holder Card by Carly Tee
Hi! It’s Carly Tee and I’m so excited to be here on the Right at Home blog! Coffee is always a good idea, right? I think so but I will tell you a secret, even though I’m a Seattle girl I don’t like coffee. Blasphemous I know but I still love a trip to the coffee shop! I just drink tea or coconut milk hot chocolate – yum! And even though I don’t drink it myself, I can absolutely appreciate how a cupof coffee can turn the day around!
The Cup Of Joy set is perfect for brightening someone’s day! And I have a quick and easy way to create a gift card holder inside a card.
To start, just create your A2 card as desired. I stamped a coffee cup, then masked it before using dye inks in a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) color palette and Abstract Florals to create a colorful & mod background around my coffee cup. I love the way the CMYK dye inks blend to create other colors.
To create the gift card holder insert, cut a piece of cardstock to 4-1/2 x 8. Score at ½, 4 and 7-1/2.
Fold on the 4 inch score line and use a circle punch or die to cut a circle notch on the fold line. I used a 1-1/2 circle punch.
Use scissors to cut a little triangle notch from each side of the circle to create an opening that a gift card can easily slide into and out of.
Decorate as desired, then fold ½ and 7-1/2 score lines, insert gift card and adhere the flaps to the inside of the card.
Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with me for a bit! Hope you are off to brighten someone’s day with a cup of joy!
Hugs,
Carly
