Love Ya Cozy Cardinal Valentine's Day Card Using Catherine Pooler Designs Dye Inks
Morning, love bird!
Hope your week is off to a lovely start. I'm back today with another Valentine's Day themed project, however, today's is even more special because I'm featuring Catherine Pooler Designs Dye Inks!
I was introduced to her line of inks last fall and I've been hooked ever since. I have almost the entire collection (crying over the Be Mine color released in her Stamp of Approval box!) and can't wait to pick up her newest Zen Garden collection. Luckily, I had plenty of colors in my current stash to create today's card.
Let's get started...
I started off this card with my fluffy pink clouds created using the My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I used an ink blending tool and It's a Girl from CPD to create this dreamy skyscape. Once I was happy with the color saturation I die-cut the panel with the rectangle from my Sweet Stitches Die Set. It adds a whimsical stitching detail to the edges which I love.
Next I moved on to creating my sweet bird using my Cozy Cardinal stamp and die set. Who said this bird was just for the holidays?! For the body I used It's a Girl, for the head piece, tail and cheeks I used Party Dress, Rockin' Red for the dots on the head piece and stomach and Orange Twist for the beak. I stamped the feet and eyes using Midnight. I just adore this color combo!
To give my love bird something to sit on I stamped the branch from the set using Icing on the Cake and a few leaves using Green Tea and Eucalyptus. I have to say...these greens are beautiful. Green is one of my favorite colors and the hues of these shades are perfection.
I popped all these elements on to my background, towards the bottom so I had enough space to stamp a sentiment in the top corner. I used the "love ya" sentiment from my new Love Ya set and the Rockin' Red ink. I wanted to be sure it stood out against the background. Around the sentiment I added three hearts from the Cozy Cardinal set stamped with It's a Girl.
And my tweet Cozy Cardinal card using Catherine Pooler Designs Dye Inks was finished! I hope you like the result. There are also some pretty purples in her line that would work as well if that's what you prefer!
If you have some of these inks (or the entire collection, like me!), let me know your fave colors in the comments below!
