DIY Teacher Gifts Using the WRMK Pillow Box Punch Board
Hi there!
It's that time of year again when you start thinking about all the important people in your lives and how much you appreciate them. As parents, I'm sure some of those people at the top of your list include your children's teachers. It can be difficult to come up with ideas that are both time-efficient, yet also thoughtful and cute, so today I have two DIY Teacher Gift ideas using the We R Memory Keepers Pillow Box Punch Board.
If you've never heard of the We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards, you are seriously missing out on some awesome products. Perhaps the most popular one is the Envelope Punch Board, and since it's release, a whole slew of new boards have been introduced into their collection. One of those boards is the Pillow Box Punch Board (pictured right).
Both of the projects featured in the photo above were created using this board. If you want to see this board in action, make sure to watch the tutorial video below.
Thanks for Everything Pillow Box
For my first project, I knew I wanted to create a pillow box that would fit pencils inside. I think any teacher would appreciate a stack of pencils to start the new year off right, don't you think? I followed the instructions on the board, and quickly made my box out of some kraft cardstock.
For reference, I cut my paper to 10 1/2 inches long by 6 inches wide. As instructed on the board and in the video, your paper should always be 6 inches wide, you change the length depending on your project.
I kept the decoration of my box simple by adding a little tag that I created using various products from my product line. I used the apple and stem from my Back to School Die set to create my focal point and adhered it to a white tag. Overtop I stamped my greeting using my Fall Sentiments set. Lastly, I wanted to change up the traditional leaf and use my holly leaf stamp instead from my Poinsettia stamp set. I added the tag with some twine and I was finished! Very simple, quick, easy to mass-produce, and, most importantly, cute!
You've Got Happy Mail Pillow Box
This next box is perfect for boxing up small candies to give as a gift. For this box, I cute my paper to 6 inches wide by 6 inches tall. Once punched and glued together, I cut a strip of blue polka dot paper and wrapped it around the center.
For the center of the box I used my Happy Mail stamp to create a label and my Poinsettia set to stamp holly leaves and berries. Such a cute little accent, yet so easy to make!
I hope you were inspired by these quick & easy DIY pillow boxes using the WRMK Pillow Box Punch Board! I'm sure any teacher or co-worker would love to receive something that is handmade. There really is nothing like a handmade gift!
