Now let's get on to the samples...
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Card
For my first card I wanted to create a scene using the tree and bird from my Christmas Critters set. I started by paper piecing the two elements out of various cardstock colors. I love the layered look I was able to create. Of course, you could substitute the paper piecing for Copic coloring. I added the bird and tree onto a hill that I die-cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders.
Lastly, I adhered the hill to a panel of kraft cardstock that I stamped some snowflakes on from the same stamp set in white pigment ink. To finish off the card, I used one of my sentiments from my Christmas Sentiments set and stamped it in brown ink.
Have a Very Merry Christmas Card
This card started with the idea to use the My Favorite Things Fringe die to create some texture. I die-cut three of the die from various cardstock colors and layered them on the bottom on a white panel. Above the fringe layers I stamped my sentiment from my sentiment set in brown ink.
To accent the sentiment, I stamped some holly leaves and berries from my Poinsettia set and cut them out by hand. I also added a little clear gem next to the "have" for an extra touch.
Season's Greetings Card
This next card was the first card I made with my holiday stamps and I think it may be my favorite. I started with the idea to create an arrangement of poinsettias across the center of the card with the sentiment either above or below them. I used both the smallest and largest poinsettia outlines from my Poinsettia set and white heat embossed them on red cardstock. I also embossed the centers on to yellow cardstock and trimmed them out.
For the card base, I adhered a piece of green patterned paper to the bottom of a panel. I adhered the poinsettias across the seam of the papers with foam tape. Above the poinsettias I stamped my greeting from my set with a brown ink. Overall, this card is both fun, simple, and festive!
And that's it...for today that is! Throughout the next few weeks I will be sharing even more card ideas as well as some DIY projects using my stamps. Make sure to check back here soon!
