Poinsettia Card by Kari // RAH Stamps Christmas Foliage Feature Week

Hi all! Kari back with you today to share this card featuring the beautiful set from the Holiday Release called Christmas Foliage.  When I first saw this set, I thought it was gorgeous!  A lot of ideas started popping into my head!

For today, I went a more "traditional" way if you will and started out stamping onto a piece of smooth white card stock that I die cut using the smallest stitched frame from the Find The Beauty Die Set and I stamped some of the branch images and stamped them on the outer portions of the white panel.  I used a darker green as well as a lighter green and created some contrast in the images.

I did use my MISTI stamping tool to do this.  Once I was happy with the way the branches were looking, I stamped a few of the pine cone images.  I then colored them in quickly with some Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I didn't do anything fancy with the coloring at all, I actually was going for an "organic" look.

I then used the stem image to stamp down in the middle of my branches to give them a completed look.  For my sentiment, I stamped down one of the sentiments from the set in Versamark ink, and I embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I absolutely love the look of gold with green and red.  Such a classic look!  I wanted to add one of the poinsettia flowers, so I stamped the smallest one from the set in black ink, and also colored it in quickly with the Zig Real Brush pens.  I did "fussy" cut the flower out, but there are matching dies for this set now in the Right at Home shop!

Once I was done with the flower, I took my black felt tip marker to edge all around to make it look as if I cut it out perfectly, and then I started to assemble my card together.  I created a frame with both stitched dies and die cut a piece of Pure Poppy card stock.  This way both the frame and the white panel would adhere together seamlessly.  I adhered these onto my white card base, and then decided I needed a thin gold frame between my red and white panel.  I had some gold glitter card stock in my stash and die cut a thin frame using some simple rectangles dies.  I adhered the frame with some Multi Matte glue, and then I adhered my poinsettia.  To add a final touch I added a gold confetti piece in the middle of my flower to tie it all together.

Such a classic looking holiday card.  The sky's the limit with this set!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Happy Holidays!
