Home is Where the Heart Is Blog Hop // Right at Home January Release

Now that the holidays are over, it means my favorite time of year is finally here. February and Valentine's Day have always held a special place in my heart. Pinks and reds and golds and hearts are some of my favorite things...and they all coincide with February. Needless to say, I was more than excited to put together my release for this month filled with goodies perfect for letters to your crush. I've come up with a few ideas to share with you today using the new items and my new Right at Home Design Team will also be sharing their creations.

While designing my Kiss Kiss stamp set, I used the quintessential Valentine's Day candy as my inspiration. I was inspired by the words, the shapes, the fonts, everything. When I started creating with this set, I knew I wanted to create a shaker card that looked like one of the little boxes of candy hearts. It also gave me an excuse to used another fun product that I released this month in collaboration with Pretty Pink Posh, my XOXO Sequin Mix.

I used a rectangle die to cut my "box" and cut a circle out of the center so you could see the "candy" inside. At the top of the rectangle, I used the "you're a" and "sweetheart" stamp from my set and white heat-embossed it. I added foam tape to the back of my top panel, sprinkled in my sequins, and added a white panel to sandwich them inside. I added a silver glitter frame around the window to bring even more attention to the sweets inside. I also white heat-embossed two candy hearts from my set with various greetings on them to pop up on top.

I added this little shaker box onto a red scalloped rectangle and adhered it to some light blue heart patterned paper. I never thought I would use this patterned paper, but I think this card would be bare without it. It adds the perfect touch!
