Hello Fall Happy Mail Swap Packaging Ideas by Nicole

Happy Fall!

On Monday I opened registration for my Hello Fall Happy Mail Swap...and many of you have already decided to take part in the fun. I'm still accepting participants, so make sure to add your information in the sign-up form here if you're interested. Today, I'm sharing a little sneak peek into my box and how I'm wrapping everything up. You may think I went a little overboard, but I just was having way too much fun!

The box-opening experience starts with an adorable stitched leaf banner that I strung across the inside flap of the box. I made it out of some thick felt leaves and stitched across them using my sewing machine. I added it to the box with some washi tape. It also acts as a bonus gift for the recipient as they can peel it off and hang it above their desk or something.

I put all my gifts for my swap partner in a variety of little bags. For the clear bag, I folded the item inside and sealed it with a doily I stamped with a sentiment from my Grateful Heart stamp set. I used another one of the sentiments from that set to create a pattern on my brown bag. I closed that one up with some twine and a few stamped leaves from Fall Leaves.

I also made my own shaker pocket (pictured top right) from some name badge protectors I found in my stash (do not ask why I have them...in bulk). I put in one of my gifts and a ton of fall colored sequins and stitched it shut at the top. Be creative with your packaging...I'm sure you have some cool things lying around that will make your box even more fun and unique!

I also made a quick notecard to say hi to my swap partner. I used the same sentiment set and leaves set so everything coordinates.

To finish off my box, I will be adding these cute leaf stickers to the front flap with the recipients address. I used a sheet of sticker paper (you can get some at Staples, it's usually used to print shipping labels on) and stamped some leaves on it in various ink colors. I'm going to cut them out and cluster them around their name and address. When they open their mailbox they'll know for sure their swap box has arrived!

I have to be honest...I had the most fun I've had in a while putting this box together. I just love making pretty things that not only make me happy, but will make someone else happy as well. I've received some comments thanking me for putting this swap together and I just want to say thank you for participating. If you'd like to take part, you can sign up here.

I hope you have an amazing day!
