DIY Chocolate Bunny Gift Boxes by Kymona // Homemade with Love Day #2

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here with a special post for all of you. This week the Design Team was challenged to make an actual homemade gift for someone special this spring season.  How awesome is that!!

I pondered on what I wanted to make. I create handmade cards all day long so what could I do that would be totally different then what I'm use to.

This week my daughter and nieces asked if we were going to make something together and I asked them what they wanted to do.  I also told them I had to make something other then a card that we could give to someone special and they jumped up and down.

We went to the store and they saw the chocolate and molding.  They wanted to make chocolate bunnies.  I said perfect!!  That was right up my alley for this challenge.

Here is our gift box:

Oh man, we had so much fun creating these bunnies.  My daughter and nieces did it all by themselves.  I just supervised.

Lets take a look at their process:

  • First they put the chocolate in a silicone bowl and placed it in the microwave for 30 seconds or until the chocolate melted.

  • Once the chocolate melted they poured it into a piping bag.

  • Then they squeezed the chocolate into the mold. They used a butter knife to scrap the extra chocolate over back into the bowl.

  • After that, they placed the mold into the fridge for 15 mins.

  • They did that 3 times.

Here is when I came in, LOL!! I placed all of the bunnies nice and neat in a treat box.

I had a bunch of bunnies cut from the Right at Home Hoppy Easter Stamp Set my previous card so I just colored one of them and adhered him to the front of the box using Tombow Power Tabs.  They are clear adhesive when the person opens the box, the tape is a visible.

Then I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner. Super cute!! We made 3 boxes for them to give to someone they choose!!

Thank you for stopping by!
